Plastic Ono Band
Just saw the Plastic Ono Band as part of Ornette Coleman’s Meltdown Festival. It was Yoko Ono, Sean Lennon, Cornelius and some cute Japanese girls and at various stages Antony Hegarty, Ornette Coleman and Mark Ronson.
I had no idea what to expect but really enjoyed it. Though at times I couldn’t help think that the Plastic Ono band would be much better with a little less Yoko. The music and musicianship was superb. Yoko’s ‘banter’ was at the same time funny, intriguing, uncomfortable and annoying.
